Pinterest is quite possibly one of my favorite timesucks pastimes.
With fall weather arriving in a matter of days, let me show you some of the items that have caught my eye.
First of all, I need jeans. I’m not back into my pre-pregnancy jeans yet and would like a fabulous pair. I want jeans that make me look good and feel good while I’m in this annoying post-partum transition.
This year, I’ve decided the boyfriend look is going to be most appropriate. They are a little roomier through the waistline, which I desperately need. And many of them you can roll up and down depending on the look you want.
I’d also like a new statement necklace to dress up boyfriend jeans and plain old T-shirts. It’s the quickest way to polish a “running errands” look. Slip out of your tennies and into some flats, add a statement necklace and grab a bright clutch.
If you’ve ever read my blogs, you’ll know I love dresses. Having a baby and choosing to nurse has put a cramp in my preferred style. So when I found this Suedy Lady dress from Athleta, I figured I’d found my dress-saving staple. It’s crossover styling provides easy access and can be dressed up or down with flats, tights, boots or leggings.
This decade has been an exercise in juxtaposition and the breaking of all fashion rules.
Moto boots with feminine, girly dresses. Mixing prints. White after Labor Day.
And now, these funky Nike Air Max tennis shoes are paired with head-to-toe black and skinny leather pants. So cool.
I even need a new pair of tennis shoes!
Another pair of shoes I have my eye on are an electric fuchsia pair of suede pumps. Since my little black dress collection is as big as my little black sweats collection, I lean towards statement shoes too.
These Cole Haan pumps remind me of a lipstick shade and would look great with dresses, skinny jeans and ankle length pants alike – because why would you want to cover them up?
You know I’m always a fan of the ever-popular leopard print. This great clutch from Diane Von Furstenberg is on my wish list too. This truly is a handbag that can go from day to night and I love the pop-of-red detailing.
Red lips, smoky eyes and dark nails are also on my must-have list. There is no shortage of either on the market right now. Just remember, if you are going to wear red lips, pick the red that most suits your hair and skin color.
While early pregnancy did a number on my skin, during the latter part it was pretty clear and glowy.
But now, I’ll be starting over with my hormone-induced, mid-life blemishes.
Lucky Magazine’s beauty editor, Jean Godfrey-June, has this to say about the Crème Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask, “I woke up the next morning with visibly better skin: plumper, clearer, glowier. Younger, fresher, firmer. As in, so transformative it was kind of hard to believe.”
At $260 for 3.3 ounces, on my Pinterest board is where it may stay.
And last, but not least, hair cuts.
I’ve been looking around for a new style that I can’t wear in a sock bun (because I did for pretty much the entire pregnancy and since then.)
I’m not ready for short hair, per se, but I would like to take off some length because it always makes hair seem fuller and thicker.
Who doesn’t want that?
