The North American Aronia Berry Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Sawmill Hollow farm in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The free festival will host a Google Hangout to allow festivalgoers to exchange recipes with food lovers worldwide.
The sixth annual festival will have vendors, craftsmen and aronia-themed activities, an aronia berry stomp, ice cream socials, kids activities, live music, live entertainment, wine tastings, aronia-themed cookouts and various farm demonstrations. On Sunday, the Hy-Vee Wellness Bus will offer flu shots.
The Missouri Valley Volunteer Fire Department will direct parking and also shuttle attendees to the festival for a donation toward building a new fire station.
