We talked fall fashion trends a few weeks ago, but we didn’t talk shoe trends.
And let’s face it, shoes and handbags are always a girl’s best friends.
That’s because they fit even if you’ve eaten an entire pan of brownies or haven’t been to the gym in months.
The runways at New York Fashion Week were packed with better than ever styles and plenty of fancy footwear too.
Let’s take a look at some top trends:
If shoe booties are called “shooties,” then what do you call the sandal and boot combination? Sandoots? Whatever they’re called, they are big this year. It’s not altogether my favorite look, but it is unique nonetheless.
Lace-up heels are another top trend. And these I can get my arms around. The styles may vary from cage-inspired heels to heeled oxfords, but they will always make your calves look smokin’.
Prints. Every pattern, color, and style you can imagine. The bolder, the better. Enough said.
Loafer detailing. Loafers have long been associated with the preppy set, but no more. The kilty detailing has been attached to virtually every kind of shoe.
Lug Soles. I always think of my Doc Marten’s from the 1990′s when I think of lug soles. But you’ll find these oversized soles on everything from pumps to loafers to 1940’s-inspired T-straps. And they’ll be great shoes to wear in the snow!
Tough Boots. It’s no wonder “tough” boots are in this fall. What else would you wear with moto pants and biker jackets. Leather is a major fashion staple this year, and rocker-biker-mean girl boots are the perfect accompaniment.
