As horrified as I am to admit it, the end of summer is too close for my personal comfort.
However, fall is my absolute favorite season for fashion so I’ve got the trend report.
Get your old favorites within reach and ensure new purchases will have you stepping out in style.
Think East Coast fishing villages and cable knits. Think Ivy League Schools and the perfect plaid. Think outerwear with outdoorsy fur collars and knee-high boots. Pull them together and pull off the trend inspired by nature.
Color Block Party.
Color blocking is still big, big, big and simple. The bolder the color, the better. Choose dresses, skirts, tops, pants and footwear in exciting color to make a statement every time.
It seems like the trend goes back and forth between bold black and white or the softer, but no less sophisticated, gray. Choose gray for outerwear, trousers, sweaters and dresses too. Rich fabrics like wool flannel or cashmere look even richer in this muted color.
Rough and Tumble.
Leather has been a fashion force for many seasons now. Streetwise leather style is another big trend this fall. Choose styles that are a little bad girl, a little punk and a lot chic.
The Green Period.
If it’s green, it’s “in” this season. Choose virtually any shade and layer them for even greater effect. There’s nothing more lush!
Repeating prints are another great trend for fall. Distinctive graphics are positively head turning.
Black tie or white tie, the trend for evening wear is menswear inspired.
