Momaha caught up with Miss Robbie Montgomery of “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” a popular show on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Montgomery is a singer-turned-soul food restaurant owner.
She has an amazing back story. She sang backup for Tina Turner, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Pattie LaBelle and The Rolling Stones.
But after a collapsed lung rendered her unable to sing, she turned to soul food.
She opened the very first Sweetie Pie’s restaurant in St. Louis 17 years ago and brought her family in to help run the business.
Since then, the family business has expanded to three Sweetie Pie’s restaurants and a reality show that’s sure to leave a smile on your face.
Here’s what she had to say.
