The headlines are endless with the newest arrival in the royal family.
The baby, Prince George has finally arrived!
But he’s not the only royal member getting attention from the paparazzi.
Unlike most celebrities, the Duchess of Cambridge made a big appearance or shall we say statement by stepping outside of a British hospital to show off that bundle of joy and post-baby bump.
Most celebrities — ahem, Kim Kardashain — try to sneak out the back. Usually, the celebrities we get a glimpse of post baby are back to their toned bodies or hide that midsection pouch.
Take Jessica Alba. She was back into bikinis in no time after giving birth to her second child. Her secret: Girdles.
It only took Shakira six months to start sporting a bikini after having her first child.
Less than 24 hours after giving birth, the criticism — and praise — for the Duchess of Cambridge had begun. Many people expected her to have a killer post baby body. She didn’t disappoint — she looked great. But she did surprise many people, including me.
Kate wore an empire-waisted polka-dot dress that (unlike Princess Diana’s muu-muu-like dress) didn’t hide her still-round baby bump. The dress clung to her stomach.
Let’s face it, she popped out a baby. Those miracle killer mommy bodies aren’t the norm and they don’t happen overnight.
Omaha mom Amber Marie Chaidez said to cut the gal some slack.
The 30-year-old mom to two — a 12 year-old and a 11 month-old — said she wore a yellow tank top with comfortable black pants when she stepped out of the hospital post delivery. She was proud of herself and felt great after giving birth.
Ashley Marie Kozac felt the same.
The Omaha mother of four kids — ages 7, 6, 4, and 1 — wore “normal” clothes, too.
“I didn’t hide my pregnancy” or the post pregnancy belly bump either, Kozac said.
So what’s the typical post-baby outfit to wear home from the hospital?
We asked a few local maternity stores. Here’s which garments tend be popular:
– layerd shirts
– belly bands
– long tanks
– long tops
– ruffled shirts
– leggings paired with longer tops
– short sleeved shirts paired with capri pants
We want to know… Describe your post-baby outfit. How’d you feel wearing it after giving birth?
