Do your kids like to play outside, paint and get messy?
You’re probably thinking… what kid doesn’t?
When I stumbled upon a recipe for sidewalk paint a few weeks ago I knew my kids would love it. So on the next sunny day I had a tray mixed and ready to go.
Surprisingly, I discovered that there wasn’t much to making sidewalk paint. I already had everything I needed — there’s only three ingredients needed for this craft. It’s really difficult to mess this recipe up.
1. Mix equal parts water and cornstarch into each well of a muffin pan. (I used 3 tablespoons of each).
2. Add 6-8 drops of food coloring to each muffin well and mix.
3. Find a sidewalk and paint! Foam brushes work the best since they really soak up the paint.
My daughter Alivia loved painting rainbows onto the driveway. Her little brother Bennett enjoyed splattering her creations with the paint (sibling love at its finest).
I did mention this project was a bit messy, right?
Take a look at my daughter Alivia’s legs at the end of the day.
She loved her new splattered fashionista look but luckily the chalk dusted right off once dried.
Here’s a glimpse of our driveway masterpiece.
Sadly the rain came and washed away our artwork that night but I have plans to mix this up again very soon.
