Day three of the Burke Rockstars take Chicago, and this lady is tired. I have so many anecdotes and insights to share with you that my fingers can’t keep up with the dialogue running through my mind.
It was a Top 10 day, despite the weather. We would have gladly accepted warmer temps and less wind. But when you travel with the Rockstars, you tend to overlook the negatives and focus on the positives. So, we were thankful for sun and no precipitation.
Our itinerary led us to the Shedd Aquarium and Wrigley Field. The sea-life had a mesmerizing, calming effect; the Cubbies had an opposite effect. Each student was given a Chicago Cubs bag full of goodies and our group’s name was put in big lights during the fifth inning.
We took photos with Tom Ricketts, sang and signed “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the seventh inning stretch, and indulged on Chicago dogs and fries.
These amazing planned activities were certainly fun and memorable. Yet, the spontaneous event during breakfast tops the day’s list of “wows!” Check out the below video of Larvet, our hotel’s breakfast attendant extraordinaire, and the Rockstars providing the morning entertainment.
We had a full day and most everyone looks tired and worn out (see main photo). But I’m pretty sure the Rockstars are falling asleep with smiles on their faces and dreaming of their Chicago adventures.
