The end of the school year is right around the corner!
Is it just me or did the time fly by at an alarmingly fast rate?
I’m extremely excited for summer break because I’ll have both of my boys at home with me all day long.
Now how to pass the time?
So I’m filling my arsenal with some fun activities to keep us busy; both for outside and inside play. In my search for such activities, I came across these wacky sacks. I just knew my boys would enjoy making them so I didn’t wait for summertime to do this craft idea.
Hot glue gun
1. First you get out your Playdough (I used one container of Playdough per balloon); then roll it out into a tube.
2. The second step is a two person job. Have one person stretch out the top of the balloon as wide as it will go. Then have the other person stuff the Playdough inside. You will more than likely want the adult to stretch the balloon and have the child stuff.
3. Press down on the balloon to get all of the air bubbles out, then tie it off.
4. The next step is completely up to you. Decorate your wacky sack however you’d like! You can simply give them a Sharpie pen (if they are old enough to be trusted with a permanent marker) and let them loose on making a face, etc. You can also help them by hot gluing materials onto their wacky sack.
I let my boys loose to scour through our craft materials and I was impressed with what they came up with! They used pom poms, pipe cleaners, yarn etc., to aid them in decorating.
It really gets their creative juices flowing. Not only that, you will not want to put these wacky sacks down! I even found myself mindlessly squishing the Playdough around in the balloon while watching TV.
A fun, silly, and entertaining craft!
