Omaha’s apparently a top spring break spot. And not just for people from Gretna.

A new list from Livability.com ranked the 10 best spring break spots for families, and Omaha came up No. 4, joining such celebrated oases as Boise, Birmingham, Tulsa and Tucson.

The site ranked the cities based on temperate climates, affordable hotels, kid-friendly restaurants and number of attractions, parks and nature areas.

“When it comes to budget-friendly trips,” Livability said, “Omaha ranks near the top with more than a dozen free activities, such as the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, the Mormon Trail Center, Boys Town, Heartland of America Park and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts.”

Other stuff Livability recommends:

Walk the Keystone Trail, take a dip at CoCo Key Water Resort, explore the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, stroll through the Lauritzen Gardens, visit the Durham Museum.

Livability (optimistically) projects Omaha spring break highs around 64 degrees.
