Cat Koehler: Mom shaming: Confessions of my mom fail moments
Cat Koehler Omaha World-Herald

Thanks in large part to social media, these days Internet trends come and go faster than I can get through my Twitter feed. Who could forget Tebowing, planking, or owling? The newest trend (and one that isn’t moving on fast enough) is shaming.

Shaming on the Internet comes in many forms. It started with images of children forced by their parents to hold a sign confessing their digressions.

Her quivering lip says it all.

Then the trend moved on to dog shaming. It’s exactly what it sounds like. The poor pooches of the world are now on display being forced to tell the world of their wrong-doings.

He’s lucky this shaming was his only punishment.

Mom shaming – it exists.

Let’s be honest; all moves have some sort of shame. There are things we’ve done just to survive, and things that we’ve done because, well, we’re busy moms pulled in 500 directions.

The reason I like it is because it allows us to control our less-than-perfect moments as mothers. It takes the power away from anyone who’d be so daring to paint us as less-than suitable mothers.

Not my finest mommy moment.

You know you’ve been tempted.

It saved me a lot of money.

No waiting and no push elves selling photos.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.
