Super Bowl XLVII is today. There will be much revelling, much ado about Beyonce and knee-slapping funny commercials.
But across the country, participants in the Souper Bowl of Caring will make a huge difference in the lives of local residents.
The Souper Bowl of Caring is a national movement of young people working to fight hunger and poverty in their own communities. The first “Souper Bowls” collected canned soups for food pantries, expanded, and now include events to raise not only food donations, but funds for other local charities.
See how you can effortlessly help those in need in Omaha, or wherever you are.
The Faithful Shepherd Presbyterian Church, for example, has participated in Souper Bowl of Caring for more than 10 years, making non-perishable food and/or monetary donations to local food pantries.
Immediately following worship, several youth members will hold large soup pots collecting donations.
Several church members invite you to join in this worthy cause.
