Is it too early to talk spring trends?
Why not? The looks made their runway appearance more than six months ago.
And since the only thing that is dropping around here are snow and temperatures, why don’t I drop the trend report on you in time to update your spring wardrobe?
I’ll even throw in some affordable examples for your “look book.”
Trend No. 1: Graphics
Patterns, bold ones, are all the rage again. But none so popular as stripes. The designs are just about everywhere from designer Oscar de la Renta’s collections to Old Navy.

Trend No. 2: Bold color
Think dressing in electric pinks, blues, and yellows just like those of us who grew up in the 80′s. For example, glance at how Jenni Kayne pairs pink with an equally shocking orange hue. Ann Taylor does the same for a fraction of the price, though.

Trend No. 3: Exotic prints and textures
While you may not be traveling around the globe this year, you can certainly look as though you did. Here is a couture look from Vera Wang. You can find the same lacy textures and irridescence in these trousers from BodenUSA.

Trend No. 4: More leather
But in pale spring shades and warmer-weather cuts.

Trend No. 5 Boudoir-inspired
Does this ever go out? It’s a little tamer than Madonna’s long-ago picks, but it’s still highly reminiscent of what you are usually wearing under all these other top trends. Designer Jason Wu is one of my favorites and does it so well by mixing leather, lace and corset-styling all in one gorgeous dress. But for something a little more wearable (and affordable!), try Alexander McQueen’s “McQ.”

Trend No. 6: Black & White
You can’t go wrong and you probably won’t even have to shop! This look from Calvin Klein is simple and sleek in the two easiest colors to find. In fact, pick each piece up for under $100 at Zara.com.
