Attend a free Science Fair at Lakeshore Learning Store from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’ll feature hands-on activities and experiments at the store’s 120th and West Center location.
Celebrate National Popcorn Day at the Nebraska History Museum, 15th & P Streets in Lincoln from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is a free family workshop to learn about raising popcorn in Nebraska and make popcorn crafts.
Join Pottery Barn Kids for a showcase of their latest nursery collections as well as product demonstrations and nursery design advice. This is a free event but an RSVP is required.
Watch the Omaha Lancers take on the Lincoln Stars at the Ralston Arena, 7300 Q St, at 7:05 p.m. Admission for adults is $20-$22; kids are $13.25-$15.25.
SUNDAY
Watch the Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships at the Century Link Center. SESSION 1 begins at 9:45 a.m.
Meet the Deer Detectives at Hitchcock Nature Center, 27792 Ski Hill Loop in Honey Creek. Discover the world of deer at this kinder nature program for preschool ages. Hands-on and outdoor activities, weather permitting. The cost is $5 per child for the 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. event.
Watch “Rusty Rocket’s Last Blast” at Kountze Planetarium on UNO’s campus. The show is from 2 to 3 p.m. Admission is $3.
Bundle up and head out to Fontenelle Forest for Family Sundays in the Forest. Snap photos of the scenic trails. General admission prices apply.
TUESDAY
Visit the Joslyn to see The Fantastic World of Dan Yaccarino. The exhibit will feature approximately 70 paintings that illustrate fourteen children’s books created since 1997. Yaccarino’s work has been seen on television channels such as Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.
