The Omaha Public Schools have scheduled the annual open houses for its magnet schools and its high schools.

The open house events started Tuesday with Morton Magnet Middle School and Burke High.

Visitors to the magnet school open houses can tour the buildings, meet staff members and get an up-close look at the projects and activities offered to students. The schedule is:

» Thursday, Catlin Magnet, 12736 Marinda St., 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

» Thursday, Skinner Magnet, 4304 N. 33rd St., 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

» Thursday, McMillan Magnet Center, 3802 Redick Ave., 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

» Jan. 14, Marrs Magnet Center, 5619 S. 19th St., 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

» Jan. 15, Beveridge Magnet Middle, 1616 S. 120th St., 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

» Jan. 15, Nathan Hale Magnet Middle, 6143 Whitmore St., 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

» Jan. 15, Spring Lake Magnet, 4215 S. 20th St., 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

» Jan. 17, Alice Buffett Magnet Middle, 14101 Larimore Ave., 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

» Jan. 17, Crestridge Magnet, 818 Crestridge Road, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

» Jan. 17, Fullerton Magnet, 4711 N. 138th St., 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

» Jan. 17, Lothrop Magnet, 3300 N. 22nd St., 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

» Jan. 22, King Science and Technology Magnet Center, 3720 Florence Blvd., 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

» Jan. 24, Conestoga Magnet, 2115 Burdette St., 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

» Jan. 24, Western Hills Magnet Center, 6523 Western Ave., 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All seven high schools and the Career Center will host open houses so eighth-grade students can learn more about the courses and activities offered. Students from other school districts who are interested in transferring may attend. The schedule is:

» Thursday, Northwest, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

» Jan. 12, Central, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

» Jan. 17, South, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

» Jan. 22, Bryan, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

» Jan. 24, Benson, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

» Jan. 26, Career Center, 10:a.m. to noon.

» Jan. 27, North, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
