Here are 8 ways you can get your child out and moving:

1. Free open house at Omaha metropolitan YMCAs
Today, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Visitors can meet staff, learn about programming and classes, and get a free swim evaluation, among other activities. Snacks will be served.

2. Frosty Fun Day at Hummel Park Nature Center
3033 Hummel Park Road in Omaha
Jan. 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Make crafts, go on a scavenger hunt and enjoy hot chocolate. Free

3. Momaha.com play date and stroller tour
Joslyn Art Museum, 2200 Dodge St.
Jan. 16, gather in Joslyn’s ConAgra Foods Atrium at 9:15 a.m. Activity starts at 10 a.m.
Features a docent-guided stroller tour so moms, dads and caregivers can look at and talk about art with other adults while being mindful of young ones in arms and strollers. Tandem strollers and crying babies welcome.

4. Family Winter Wonderland Night at Sherman Community Center
5701 N. 16th St. in Omaha
Jan. 17, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
