Josie Loza: Celebrating the new year with bubbles and horns
Josie Loza Omaha World-Herald

Momaha’s Evening Children’s Story Time was a blast Friday night.

We owe guest reader Sheila Christ, owner of She.La in Countryside Village, a huge thank you for spending time with us.

Sheila is wife to Fred Vakili and a mom to 4-year-old son Cameron. The couple took turns reading at the 7 p.m. story time at the Bookworm Bookstore, near 87th and Pacific Streets.

Nearly 40 people attended the story time. We celebrated the coming year by wearing New Year’s Eve hats and bead necklaces, blew horns and bubbles and shared resolutions.

I giggled when a young boy told me he hoped to see more trains in the New Year. One little girl asked for more Christmas presents and mom blogger Danielle Herzog’s daughter hoped for more sun. I agree. Sunshine would be nice right about now.

The next Evening Children’s Story Time will be 7 p.m. Jan. 25. The reading lasts about 30 minutes. For the story time, children are encouraged to wear their pajamas and bring a teddy bear (or other small stuffed animal).
