2013 is just around the corner. You know the drill.

Gobble up the last of the sugar cookies and start thinking about your New Year’s resolutions.

But how often do we dedicate ourselves to losing weight on January 1, then ditch the effort a few weeks in?

This year, use the LiveWell Challenge Series as an opportunity to make your health a priority once and for all.

Organized by the Nebraska Sports Council, the LiveWell Challenge Series offers motivation in the form of friendly competition and thousands of prizes for tracking healthy behaviors.

The $30 membership includes a training shirt, annual magazine subscription and a full year of weekly tips, mini-challenges, healthy recipes and access to an exercise/nutrition tracker.

Major prizes, including a dozen weekend getaways, are available for completing any or all of the following challenges: Team Challenge (starting in January), Family Challenge or Fall Challenge.

You’ll create a profile at www.livewellchallenge.com and instantly be able to log your personal info: How much you weigh, what you eat, how much water you drink, all the physical activities you do, etc.

Maybe you check in daily and track what you eat for every meal. Or maybe at the end of each week you spend some time logging your progress.

The LiveWell Challenge Series isn’t meant to be rocket science, just an easy way to jump-start and stick to your health and wellness goals.
