There’s nothing more embarrassing than picking up someone else’s drink at a holiday party. With these adorable drink charms submitted by Karen Seymoure of La Vista, guests are sure to know which glass is theirs.

DRINK CHARMS

Supplies

Miniature Christmas ornaments of choice

Seed beads to match (pick a few different colors)

Thread

Needle

Scissors

Directions

Remove ornament hanger from charm

Cut 1 yard of thread. Fold in half and thread ends through needle. This will leave a loop at the other end.

Thread enough beads to span from the hanger hold in the ornament to the ornament top. Do not let the beads fall off the end of the thread.

Next, thread on the ornament, followed by the same number of beads used before.

Pull the needle through the loop at the end and pull tight, making a knot.

Thread enough beads to equal approximately 2 inches. Slide them against the previous beads.

Thread another 1 to 2 inches of beads (enough to circle the charm), but do not slide them against the others.

Pull the thread back through the beads from #6, starting at the last bead. This will form a loop of beads.

Making sure all the beads are snug, continue to pull the thread through the beads, occasionally making knots between beads until the thread is nearly gone. Trim the thread close.

To use, wrap beads around a glass stem or handle and pull the ornament through the loop.

JINGLE BELL CHARMS

Supplies

Small bells

Holly leaf sequins

Seed beads (pick a few different colors)

Lobster clasp (12 or 13 mm is a good size)

Needle

Thread

Directions

Cut 1 yard of thread. Fold in half and thread ends through needle. This will leave a loop at the other end.

Thread approximately ¼ inch of beads, 1 sequin, 2 bells, 1 sequin, and another ¼ inch of beads.

Pull the needle through the loop at the end and pull tight, making a knot.

Thread enough beads to equal approximately 2.5 inches followed by the lobster clasp. Slide them against the previous beads.

Pull the thread back through the beads, starting with the last one. This will leave a string of beads with the bells at one end and the clasp at the other.

Making sure all the beads are snug, continue to pull the thread through the beads, occasionally making knots between beads until the thread is nearly gone. Trim the thread close.

To use, attach the clasp to the small loop made by the ¼-inch beads at either side of the bells.
