Custom tea towels make a great host or hostess gift for the holiday season. Vintage holiday graphics, like the reindeer pictured here, are a perfect match for this printing method, which creates a faded vintage look.

Graphic Tea Towels

Supplies

Tea towels or flour sack towels (the tighter the weave, the better)

CitraSolv Natural Cleaner & Degreaser

Paint brush

Tape or pins

Reversed photocopied image (ours were free from The Graphics Fairy at graphicsfairy.blogspot.com)

Spoon

Directions

Wash, dry and iron your towels.

Tape or pin the reversed image to your towel face down.

Paint Citrasolv over the image. Do not oversaturate.

Rub the image using a circular motion with a spoon. Be careful not to shift the image from its original location.

Remove the paper to reveal your transfer. Then, using an iron on the cotton setting, iron over the image to heat set it.

Wash your towels to remove the remaining Citrasolv.
