I love making handmade note cards as gifts but have always struggled with how to package them. I came up with the idea to find a plain box — I was hoping for wood but had to settle for chipboard — that could be decorated to match the cards.
STATIONARY GIFT BOX
Supplies
Wooden or chipboard box just larger than note cards (I used 4-inch by 5½-inch cards. The box is 4½ inch-by-6½ inches.)
Ribbon and coordinating paper
Blank note cards
Adhesive (I used glue strips available at craft stores)
Embellishments (chipboard letters, stickers, flowers, etc.), optional
Directions
Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to start on the inside bottom of the box and wrap around all the way to the inside top flap.
Put adhesive on ribbon and glue it in the center of the box.
Cut two pieces of coordinating paper to cover the bottom and top of the inside of the box. This will hide the ends of the ribbon.
Take a blank note card and glue a strip of the ribbon on the front. Trim the ribbon so it is flush with the edges.
Add any embellishments.
