Deb Hegarty of Omaha can turn the plainest of picture frames into a one-of-a-kind keepsake with the addition of buttons and charms.

She has been making the embellished frames for about eight years, she said, and can customize their themes for almost any occasion.

CHARM FRAMES

Supplies

Picture frame (any desired size)

Buttons of varying sizes and coordinating colors

Craft charms with a consistent theme (can be purchased by the bag at most craft stores or online)

Hot glue and gun

Directions

With the frame lying flat on a surface, begin gluing your buttons onto the frame in a random pattern until you’ve built up a thick layer of buttons.

Add the charms in places around the frame.

Allow to cool.

Difficulty: 2 out of 4
