Josie Loza: Saturday with Santa: A momaha play date
Josie Loza Omaha World-Herald

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All The —- HEY! There’s no snow on the ground.

So why are we singing Christmas music?

We’re just excited to announce a new momaha play date on our calendar, titled “Saturday with Santa.”

Jolly old Saint Nicholas will open his workshop at Shadow Lake Towne Center to momaha readers Dec. 1 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (PSST! He’ll be a few doors down from the Wheatfields restaurant.)

This play date is a special one for the family. A story time with Santa Claus will kick off the event at 1 p.m. Following the reading, Santa will meet-and-greet children. While waiting to visit with Santa, kids can enjoy free sugar cookie decorating and a make-and-take craft.

Families can also have their photos taken with Santa for the discounted rate of $16. Normally, it costs $20 to get a CD full of photos. But that’s optional. No outside photography is allowed.

Don’t worry mom and dad we have something for you too. Adults can look forward to hourly drawings for holiday tote bags, sprinkled with gift cards!

Mrs. Claus will also be stopping by the workshop for additional story times at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

If you’d like to visit Santa’s Workshop at Shadow Lake Towne Center another time, Santa will be in:

Thursday-Sunday from 1-6 p.m. (Nov. 23-Dec. 9)

Daily from 1-6 p.m. (Dec. 10-17)

Daily from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (Dec. 18-Dec. 23)

Christmas Eve from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (Dec. 24)
