Josie Loza: Momaha’s book club meets Thursday
Josie Loza Omaha World-Herald

We’ve partnered with The Bookworm bookstore at Countryside Village, 8702 Pacific St., to offer women a new monthly book club. The first meeting is 7 p.m. Thursday.

We will read different genres, but will focus on books that are light, easy reads as most of us don’t have a lot of time to read.

Join momaha’s new book club by clicking here.

The first book is “Good in Bed” by Jennifer Weiner. The novel features Cannie Shapiro, a 28-year-old writer in Philadelphia. Cannie is a typical twenty-something in her desire to lose weight, her frustration with her job, and her quest for love. Cannie is smart, sassy, and wickedly funny. She has a very supportive, if off-beat, family, great friends, and a loyal dog named Nifkin.

The book opens with Cannie reading a column in a national women’s magazine entitled, “Loving a Larger Woman” and is written by her ex-boyfriend, Bruce. Although the woman is only referred to as C, Cannie quickly realizes that the article is about her.

Make sure you tout that you’re a momaha mom at The Bookworm to receive a 20% discount on your book club books. We’ll also have a momaha book section featuring our book suggestions and a meeting space inside the store. Food and beverages are available for purchase at the Village Grinder, which is adjacent to The Bookworm.

To RSVP for the book club meeting, email jloza@owh.com or click here using Facebook.
