Mommy and me classes are so much fun.
We’re always on the hunt for new classes to try out. So you can imagine my excitement when a mother from momaha’s Facebook fan page told me that Omaha Yoga Path, 7641 Pacific St., has a free Mother and Child yoga class every Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“It’s a great time to connect with baby,” the momaha mom to a 6-month-old wrote. “Really the class has become a mother support group, baby play date and yoga exercise (course) for parents.”
Babies and young children have fun while moms get strong, stretch and breath, she wrote.
The class is taught by Durga Jai who felt there was a need to support new mothers who still wanted to practice yoga without having to exclude their children. The atmosphere is informal, child-friendly and open to mothers with newborns to children age 8.
The Yoga Path accepts at-will donations for the class to help support the March of Dimes.Â
Tell us about some of the mommy (or daddy) and me classes you’ve taken with your child?
