Moms everywhere want to hug CNN’s Anderson Cooper. A bear hug, squeeze him really tight sort of way.
On his self-titled talk show Thursday, he gained the respect of moms everywhere for kicking Sarah Burge off of his show. She’s the British woman who holds the Guinness World Record for having the most plastic surgeries and calls herself the “Human Barbie.”

Burge has also taught her daughter how to pole dance at age 6. For her daughter’s 7th birthday, she gave her a breast enhancement surgery voucher for when she turns 18.
The part that Anderson couldn’t get past, however, was when Burge explained that she suggested Botox shots to her 15-year-old daughter, a dancer, who didn’t want to be sweat while performing. She said she’d rather take her to have this done then have her sneak behind her back with a voodoo witch doctor.
It really is unbelievable. Watch it for yourself here:
Cooper later said that he always tries to be respectful to his guests, but felt she was there only for publicity. He didn’t want to encourage that.
Bravo, Anderson. All too often women like this are giving moms everywhere a bad name. Every time I turn around there is another story about another crazy mom who did something unfathomable to end up in the headlines.
Obviously that’s the minority. In reality, we are much too worried about getting our baby to sleep through the night, making sure our kids have mostly nutritious meals and trying to remember why we went to the grocery store in the first place.
The thought of Botox or breast enhancements for my 3-year-old daughter has never crossed my mind.
So, thank you, Anderson, for speaking and acting on behalf of moms who are just trying to raise decent human beings.
