Heidi Woodard: Austin’s got talent
Heidi Woodard Omaha World-Herald

My middle child, Austin, likes to perform. No, wait, scratch that. He LOVES to perform.

From the time he could talk, he sang. From the time he could walk, he danced.

His grade school talent show is right around the corner. He has to pass the tryouts in order to secure a spot in the show’s line-up. I am beyond nervous for him.

He and I are a lot alike when it comes to wanting to be on stage. Shocking, right?

If we could entertain others pretty much 24/7, that would make us both happy. The other two boys in our household, Ryan (36) and Owen (10), don’t necessarily share that same passion.

And the little diva, my three-year old daughter, is still deciding what makes her happy.

So far, I’ve determined it’s any situation that places her in an authority position… Heaven, help us.

I’d like to send as many positive vibes in Austin’s direction as possible. Watch his practice performance and feel free leave a comment, offer words of encouragement, or simply smile.

That’s it. Short and sweet. Just like Austin.
